Something is RESETting my eUICC during a profile download - HL7800

I’m running a mangOH Red with an HL7800 module. I’m attempting to download a new profile to an eUICC and something, possibly the the mangOH firmware, is resetting the SIM during the download. I get this from simtrace2:

Any ideas what could be causing this? As I understand it, the Red with a HL7800 is basically just a bit pipe - i.e. no fancy applications - and I have checked and things like power management (CPSMS) are disabled.

I have asked in another thread about firmware versions and I did notice that Legato RTOS and “Apps” are mentioned by ATI9, so I am wondering if there is a “fancy application” that is interfering here.

how do you download a new profile to an eUICC of HL78?

Using remote SIM provisioning - over the air - i.e. How does eUICC profile switching work? - YouTube

so you are putting HL7800 in mangoh red board, and then you download a new profile to an eUICC inside HL7800 remotely

what do you mean by the mangoh firmware resetting the SIM during the download?
mangoh is a hardware board, it does not have firmware

what do you mean by the mangoh firmware resetting the SIM during the download?

^^ The card state change reset above. I am trying to determine if 1) the eUICC is resetting itself or 2) something is resetting the eUICC

mangoh is a hardware board, it does not have firmware

Good point! I should have probably said that the HL7800 is resetting the eUICC - I am running the latest HL7800 firmware (4.6.9). Are there any applications running on the HL7800 that I should be aware of in this regard? i.e. applications that might reset the eUICC due to watchdogs or power management or something?

does the profile successfully being download to the eUICC?

what is the APN you are using for this eSIM?

Is this a Sierra eSIM?

i saw other people is using “lp.fota.swir” as APN, seems it is Sierra eSIM

does the profile successfully being download to the eUICC?

No

what is the APN you are using for this eSIM?

HOLOGRAM. The SIM connects successfully to the cellular network and is able to pass data using the bootstrap profile

Is this a Sierra eSIM?

No. A Hologram one.

where is the eUICC located?
inside HL7800?
Or you solder the eSIM to the mangoh board?

Can you take a picture on how is your setup on mangoh red?
how do you take the SIM trace?

Sure! Here you go. The SimTrace2 is really an incredible aid for this work. See also SIM card protocol tracing using Osmocom SIMtrace - Harald Welte - YouTube

do you have other module to put in the mangoh red board to see if this is the same behaviur to resetting the SIM in simtrace?

e.g.
WP76/ WP77 modules

I don’t, but I will try some other profiles soon to see if it is carrier dependent
