Trouble Connecting to network

Hello, I am using a mangOH Red with a WP7702. I have registered my Sierra Wireless SIM card using AirVantage and have reached the step where I am trying to connect to a mobile network.

I will get this response to cm radio initially;

Status: Not registered but currently searching for a new operator (LE_MRC_REG_SEARCHING)
Signal: No signal strength (0)

But then get this response eventually;

Am I missing a step?

Hi,

The reason is that as of today, SIMs provided with mangOH Red for LTE-m1 are for developer mode only.

For WP7702 modules when used with Sierra SIM provided with mangOH Red , note the following:

  1. NB-IOT doesnt work.
  2. LTE-m1 is mostly working: send AT command: at!selciot=2
  3. 2G always work. send AT command: at!selciot=6

Thanks for the info. What are the current limitations in LTE-m1 mode? When is NB-IOT going to be ready?

For NB-IOT, the Sierra SIM provided with mangOH Red is not ready today. LTE-m1 should be working but we are currently doing all the tests.

I issued the at!selciot=2 command and reissued cm radio on, now I get this…

can you try the 2G network first and see whether that works? Then we try the LTE-m1.
Also, remember it takes 0-30 minutes for first time SIM activation from AV

I tried again this morning. With 2G setting it never works, so I reverted to the LTE-M1 setting. I received the following once again;

hmm…did you insert the SIM? How come the SIM gives no info?

Yes, it is inserted. At one point I did get info from it.

can u power cycle and try again?

Same result after a power cycle.

clearly your sim is not inserted properly or not working. If we cant read the SIM, it will never connect
