Testing Issue with RC7620 on MangOH evaluation board

Hello, This is Souvik. We were testing the RC7620 module using mangOH red evaluation board. We were successful in testing for call functionality using AT commands but while testing for SMS and HTTP, we were encountering a certain error with error code as +CMS ERROR: 305 while passing the commands

at+cmgf=1

OK

at+cmgf?

+CMGF: 1

OK

at+cmgs=“8178743739”

test

+CMS ERROR: 305

We have tried several iterations of the same even by changing the syntax of at+cmgs=“8178743739” to at+cmgs=“+918178743739”, yet the result was an error as mentioned above.
Any help regarding the same is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I don’t see problem to send SMS:

does this SIM OK to send SMS?
Have you tried other module like WP76?

Yes, the SIM has been tested for sending SMS on mobile. We were previously testing WP7702 module. Since we intended to use the UART interface, we shifted to RC7620 but we observed this error while testing.

What is return of at!gstatus?

You can try more sim card from other operator and see if this is only happening to this sim card only

We had already tested with a different SIM card. Could you tell more regarding the error code +CMS ERROR: 305 that keeps coming. Thank you

Error 305 means" Invalid text mode parameter"

Do you find problem on using pdu mode

Hello,

Could you please elaborate on the said PDU mode.

you set AT+CMGF=1, and then you can use below link to convert text message to pdu format.

http://rednaxela.net/pdu.php

Okay thanks. Will do this and let you know

Hello, I have done the same you asked. The PDU mode was working. After few tries, text message mode worked too.

Also, I have one more query. How to connect to the internet. The SIM is registered, but no IP address is allocated even after giving the accesspoint name. Can you suggest a document from where this testing can be refered?

You can try

Does this confirm a successful HTTPS connection?

Is it possible to get certain values from an HTTP server and store it in a file on PC or post it somewhere else? In each case, what is the amount of data that could be done? Please help regarding the commands for the same.

why don’t you try on some normal HTTP website first to make sure it works fine first?

Hello, I tried the above lines of code. I could not understand why it is showing as DNS error at the end. Also, it between it says NO CARRIER. I want to access the said URL “https://webhook.site/23af7938-c228-48ff-a082-1a8812c2498c”. Pasting the same on web browser brings up “Hello Boy”.
