Cannot find device Can0

Fwupdate command should be entered in module side, not in pc.
BTW, there is no need to update yocto image if you just want to test can0 is available or not.

I did as you said, or rather I copied the .cwe file in the tmp folder of the module through scp command. After I did fwupdate, I obtained the same result as @lucanazzaro , so we have the same problem:

sorry, I really have no idea as I don’t see problem here with my mangoh green board and we are already using the same software…

I think that the problem could be in the yocto menuconfig…which configurations did you activate?

I followed this guide and activated only them:

I use the default yocto image where I did not compile anything extra.

In your post (MCP2515 CAN Data loss - #35 by akshaysk - Legato Linux distribution (Yocto project) - Legato Forum) where you were describing the same problem at some point (34/52) you posted this log

Do you remember what you did to get the lines out??

root@swi-mdm9x28-wp:~# ./start_can.sh red 0
[ 134.431354] [RMNET:HI] rmnet_config_notify_cb(): Kernel is trying to unregister can0
[ 134.460434] [RMNET:HI] rmnet_config_notify_cb(): Kernel is trying to unregister can0

I changed to mangoh green board and then it does not have those lines:
[ 134.431354] [RMNET:HI] rmnet_config_notify_cb(): Kernel is trying to unregister can0
[ 134.460434] [RMNET:HI] rmnet_config_notify_cb(): Kernel is trying to unregister can0

So the solution is to change the board to another one and hope (pray) that the latter works. If that doesn’t work, change the board again until fate decides it’s the right one.

Could be a problem the fact that, in your mangOH, file I see yellow.sinc written as reported below:

while green.sinc is empty?

Sorry, can you say to me as you build the file mangOH_02_7_19? wasn’t that what it was for another mangOH (Red or Yellow)? I tried all the possibile, but the result Is Always "cannot find device can0":sob::sob::sob:
At leAt least you could tell me where I probably be wrong? I swear I can’t understand it:pleading_face::weary:

I used this source code, you can download it:

I used just this source (you gave il to me in the past few days). So you say that It runs for mangOH green, wp7607 and talon can bus? I also tried to re-download mangOH source from GitHub, but it (obviously) doesn’t work.
believe me, I don’t know what to do anymore

Please, can you send me the file yocto.cwe, or rather the file that you update on the board?

i used the official FW R13 and the green.wp76.update is inside the tar file.

So you didn’t do this command?
image

because, at this point, I think that only this .cwe could give me problems…

no, as this yocto image just to add the CAN utility which is application level.

As I understand it, to make the board work in general it is necessary to create two files that I pass to the board using the scp command:

green.wp76xx.update
yocto_wp76xx.4k.cwe

The commands are executed on the board:

update green.wp76xx.update
fwupdate downloads /yocto_wp76xx.4k.cwe

Now I find the green.wp76xx.update file in the build folder of your archive while the yocto_wp76xx.4k.cwe file I generate it by doing make image_bin in my yocto folder.

For some reason I don’t know the .cwe file I generate (after so many attempts) it doesn’t work. So the easiest way to fix this is to use your .update file, which I already have, and your .cwe file.

So could you kindly share your yocto_wp76xx.4k.cwe file ???

as said before, I just use the official FW R13 download in source.wireless.com

me too but it doesn’t work. I downloaded the Linux Distroit at the link

https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-release-13-components/#sthash.4Ly3Qb5k.Qi85j7WE.dpbs

so i asked for your file :roll_eyes:

i download the window exe here:
