Building Custom Yocto Image for Mangoh Red WP76

Hello!

I would like to build a custom yocto image however I am having trouble. Here is what I have so far:

  • installed Ubuntu 16.04 on VM
  • downloaded WP76 source image from following link:
    https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-latest-release-components/#sthash.jhaYxLzU.rPi8Mpml.dpbs
  • then went to the following location: 1. ./meta-swi/meta-swi-mdm9x28/recipes-core/images/mdm9x28-image.inc
  • added the following line:
    IMAGE_INSTALL_append = " python-pip"
  • and then went to:
    ./meta-swi/meta-swi-mdm9x28/conf/machine/swi-mdm9x28.conf
  • and made the following change
    UBI_ROOTFS_SIZE ?= “48MiB”
  • and then to make the yocto image, typed make image_bin
  • the following is the error I got:

I have the permissions issue in Ubuntu :confused:

fixed the user permissions, now when I run make gets stuck at:

So I ran bitbake core-image-minimal and got no error. Is there a difference building the image using bitbake versus using make?
