It seems like there are some issues with getting the fix and bad position warning while using the antenna which comes as a part of the development kit. Can someone guide me to a better antenna? I am noob with antenna selection and connectors in general so some antenna specifications would be really appreciated.
Hiya,
I’m using an antenna I received with an old Sierra Fastrack Supreme dev kit. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a part number on it, but I know that it is an active antenna (has a low noise amplifier - LNA - in the antenna puck) and requires DC power to be supplied to the coax (which the mangOH does by default).
I’m surprised it works as well as it does, because I’ve got three different adapters to get from the mmcx connector on the end of the antenna cable to the ufl connector on the mangOH board.
I would have a chat to your disty and see what they’ve got. Note that a lot of GNSS antennas come with an SMA connector on the end of the cable, so you’ll need a SMA to ufl fly lead to convert the connection so that it can connect to the mangOH.
ciao, Dave
Thanks for the info dave. I really appreciate it! I will work with my distributor!
Finally figured that if anyone wants to get the UFL to SMA female its much faster to get some off amazon. Here’s a link for anyone trying to get some of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JKTTJ26/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
