I tried to flash a new kernel into the MangOH board and now the whole thing is more or less bricked. It seems I cannot use the swiflash tool to recover this; if not how can i get the board up and running with my backup .cwe file ?

Try putting dip switch 7 on your mangOH Green in the up position and then power cycle. Then start swiflash. Once it start working, flip dip switch 7 to the down position again. Are you trying to program the release 7 SPK?
