I am running my mangOH red (wp7603) dev board using Leaf with the latest firmware _[WP76xx Firmware Release 13.1 and Legato 19.02.0](https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-latest-release/)_. My system was working fine until I build and updated my board with the _textLoc_ (_Low Power_) sample app. After installing this app, my system now shutdowns (all LEDs off) and I cannot restart unless I disconnect the power and console USB cables and reconnect them back again. The system then comes back up, but it shutdowns again about 30 seconds after I get the login prompt in the USB console output. I assume it is related to the low power mode trigger from the _textLoc_ app that I installed. So, I restarted the system again and I was able to login and run “_app remove textLoc_” before the system shutdown again. The problem is that I no longer see the app installed, but the system keeps shutting down. Eventually I had to recover my system using the _[WPxxxx Windows recovery procedure](https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/legato/wpxxxxrecoveryprocedure/)_. Initially the system was stable, until I updated back my mangOH board to the latest firmware. After the firmware update, I begun to experience again the same system shutdown with all LEDs off. As I troubleshot my system, I was eventually able to notice that if I used the “_cm radio off_” command before the system shutdowns, then the system will not shutdown and will remain up without any issues. If I “_cm radio on_” again then the system begins to experience the shutdown issue. So, at this point I am wondering if the _textLoc app_ that I installed, somehow enabled a cloud service to trigger my system low power shutdown. Can somebody clarify if this is what is happening and if so, how can I disable this low power trigger? Or alternatively, is this low power trigger hardwired in some internal register? I was able to disable entering the ultra low power mode by modifying the “_enable_” file content located in _/sys/module/swimcu\_pm/boot\_source_ Note that I had to do this using the USB console port. Also, as I indicated before, when the system booted I had to immediately login and execute the “_cm radio off_” command. I am still not sure how is this related, but it avoided triggering the ulpm shutdown process. Then I executed the following commands: > cd /sys/module/swimcu\_pm/boot\_source > echo 0 \> enable > reboot After the reboot, the system started and did not trigger the ulpm shutdown. So the system is now stable. ---

In my previous post I indicated to find a solution to the shutdown problem in my mangOH Red board. It was probably circumstantial but the posted solution does not hold to be true, as I am again experiencing the shutdown issue. As explained before, if immediately after start-up I execute a “_cm radio off_”, the system will not shutdown. On the other hand, if upon system start-up I do not execute the “_cm radio off_” command, then the system shutdowns. I have managed to trace some events, and I have observed that the system will shutdown at the time when the device establishes a connection with my AirVantage service, as I can see the label “_Data session started_” in the system timeline information of my AirVantage account which happens at the same time when my system shutdowns. To help troubleshoot the shutdown issue that I am facing I have collected the console messages following these sequence of events: 1. Using the console, I login and execute a “_cm radio off_” command to avoid the shutdown process. 2. Using a Windows cmd shell, I “_ssh [root@192.168.2.2](mailto:root@192.168.2.2)_” and then execute the “_logread -f_” command. 3. Back in the console, I then execute “_cm radio on_” and wait until the system shutdowns. In the logread output it is possible to observe a series of **PSM** messages, including a “ **PSMS vendor\_shutdown poweroff** ”. If anybody has an idea on what is triggering these events, I will appreciate any feedback to help solve this issue. Thank you in advanced.
