# MangOH Red , wifi client start failed

Hello all,

I am working on MangOH Red + wp8548. I am using the legato 17.08.0 and firmware Firmware: SWI9X15Y\_07.12.09.00 r34123 CARMD-EV-FRMWR1 2017/04/26 23:34:19

My problem is, when I execute the wifi client scan, I get error  
[stopped] wifi  
[stopped] wifiApTest  
[stopped] wifiClientTest  
[running] wifiService  
[stopped] wifiWebAp

root@swi-mdm9x15:/# wifi client start  
successfully called start.  
root@swi-mdm9x15:/# wifi client scan  
starting scan.  
DEBUG: le\_wifiClient\_GetFirstAccessPoint ERRORroot@swi-mdm9x15:/#

How can I solve this issue?

Hi AE,

I am also facing the same issue. So I got reply that we need to have WiFi IOT card or wait for WiFi software for MangOH Red that will be available in late Oct or early Nov 2017.

Hi Susil,  
is there any official note from MangOH Team that Build-In Wifi on MangOH Red is not supported by the legato 17.08.0?  
Does the wifiService support only wifi IOT Card, not build-in wifi on MangohRed?  
What do you mean with “Wifi software”? app or API?

It is our intent to support both the onboard wifi and the wifi IoT card with the wifi service. The onboard wifi isn’t quite ready, but you can see the development progress of the linux kernel driver under `linux_kernel_modules/mt7697wifi/`
