Though the documentation says it can be left floating. The above post link is in relation to my post. I am using Mangoh Red with HL7800 module. I am using a sim from sierra wireless, well activated as per AIrvantage platform. It seems that the micro sim receives no power at all, tried to detect the sim using various AT commands but I received either +CME ERROR 3 , +CME ERROR 4 or +CME ERROR 10 in response. For instance: _\>at at!band?_ _AT at!band?_ _+CME ERROR: 4_ _\>at AT&K3_ _AT AT&K3_ _+CME ERROR: 4_ _\>at AT+KSIMSEL=?_ _AT AT+KSIMSEL=?_ _+CME ERROR: 4_ _\>at AT+KSIMDET?_ _AT AT+KSIMDET?_ _+CME ERROR: 4_ I checked the supply voltage on CARD1\_DET pin and found it to be around 300mV (which is too low). We tried to power up the board using CF3 usb, console usb and using an external battery but the results remained the same. I’ve tried the following dip switch combos: (1,3,4,5 : ON, others : OFF), (1,3,5 : ON, others : OFF) , (1,5: ON, others OFF). For HL78, it should be 1,4 on and rest off. regards, Ashish ---

Hi Ashish, It is an HL78, I’ve tried 1,4 already, same results. Also, tried to activate a second sierra sim for the same, airvantage throws a “_Partner provided cannot be found_” error and this happens to be a new sim which hasn’t been previously registered! ---

what voltage do you see with new sim? ---
