yes, you need to update the FW.
you can use scp to transfer the .spk file to module /tmp folder, after that you can use “fwupdate download /tmp/xxx.spk” command to update the FW.

BTW, you should use leaf to download swi-wp76\_4.7.0 which will have legato 20.04.

That’s the ressource I found to update the firmware: [https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-latest-release/](https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-latest-release/)
I guess I can also go the Windows .exe route, right? Since I have a Telekom SIM I’ll probably have to download this file: _R13.1 (Generic — GCF)_ , right?
What throws me of a bit is the fact that it says that _Generic GCF_ corresponds to the _Base Legato System 19.02.0_. This means I still won’t have Legato 20.04 running on the module or am I missing something here?

As I’ve shown in a previous post, I already downloaded _swi-wp76\_4.7.0_.

That exe will be having legato 19.2

Which will be enough to run a 20.04 app?

No, I don’t think so, both version should be matched,

But you’re recommending updating the module to 19.2 anyway?
How can I make both run the same version then?

Two methods:
You can compile the app by legato 19.2

Or you can upgrade your module to legato 20.04

That’s the point I can’t seem to get higher than 19.2, can I?

At least according to [https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-latest-release/](https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/wp76xx/wp76xx-firmware-latest-release/)
